TrafficScan

TrafficScan
TrafficScan is an advanced transport system that enables updated speed information on roads to be provided to motorists. Close to 9,500 taxis, which are equipped with the Global Positioning System (GPS), provide real-time information on their locations and speeds as they ply along roads. The data collected is processed to give average traffic speeds along these roads. Together with the data collected from other Intelligent Transport Systems, TrafficScan provides speed information that is disseminated to motorists through various dissemination channels (i.e. online web portal, mobile phones, etc). This travel information on roads helps the motorists to plan their route in advance for a smoother journey.
